What Makes A Mammal A Mammal?
Lions, tigers and bears, oh MY! Wolves, bats and whales, too!  What do they all have in common? Come learn about this inspiring group of animals.  There will be skulls, furs, and other mammal artifacts on hand to see and touch during the presentation.  I'll also bring a LIVE mammal or two, as well as my two Therapy Dogs, Gangsta and Bailey!

Bugs As Pets
Join me as we explore the realm of bugs, including insects, arachnids and myriapods.  Since bugs were my first love when I was a child, I have 4 decades of stories and experiences to share and delight you.  We will go over which animals make good or difficult pets.  I still keep many bugs as pets so you will see up close and perhaps even HOLD some of these animals in your hand!  There are also plenty of non-living things to see and touch as well, such as cocoons, molts, bee wax, and much much more!

Rocks, Gems, Fossils
Dig Into Reading...Dig into Geology!  Participants will learn about the geologic cycle and how various types of rocks are formed.  Ranger Eric will have his personal rock collection on display for you to look, touch or maybe even hold!  You'll get lots of ideas about starting your own rock collection...and depending on supplies, I will even give you a fossil that I have collected to add to your own collection.  Lastly, we end with a show-n-tell session, so be sure to bring your favorite rock, fossil or gem.  During the volcanic segment of the presentation, we also erupt a volcano of Ranger Eric's creation!  So stand back and watch because...geology ROCKS!

Bird Brains Unite
This is an introduction to birds and the sport of "birding."  Why do birds fly south for the winter? Why do they sing? Learn this and much more during this fun and lively presentation about our feathered friends.  Plus there will be artifacts on hand, such as bird skulls, nests, eggs and more.  If you have a feathered friend at home please bring a picture to share with everyone!

Live Animal Show: Wildlife Diversity
This presentation demonstrates a nice cross-section of animal diversity around the planet.  We will also look into each animal's special adaptations and talk about how they survive in their habitat.  Many of these animals can be seen up close and perhaps touched as well!

2 Years in the Peace Corps: The Kingdom of Tonga
After spending 2 years in the Kingdom of Tonga, a small island nation in the South Pacific, I have a deep respect and admiration for this Polynesian country, and their struggle to hang on to their traditions in the light of a changing world.  Join me as I share with you my experiences there, in their culture, and learning their traditions.  Hold tapa cloth, made from the bark of the Mulberry Tree, see the intricate wood carvings, and lay down on a traditional Tongan bed!  A multimedia presentation will allow me to share sights and sounds of my time in this tropical paradise.
